A new renaming proposal
US President Donald Trump has once again floated the idea of changing the name of a major body of water — this time he proposed renaming the Atlantic Ocean the 'American Ocean.' The remarks were made at a rally ahead of the US midterm elections.
A joke about two oceans and a conversation with Pichai
Trump joked that he had considered renaming either the Atlantic or the Pacific Ocean. According to him, he discussed the idea with Google CEO Sundar Pichai, whom he called 'a great guy,' but, Trump claims, the top executive reacted reluctantly to the proposal.
Europe's reaction
Trump also jokingly suggested how European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, might react to such a renaming.
