Charges and the defense's position
Social media influencer Clavicular, who promotes the 'looksmaxxing' trend — maximizing the attractiveness of young men — has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges including rape. The 20-year-old blogger, whose real name is Brayden Peters, was charged in September with a felony — rape, drugging a person for sexual contact, and procuring alcohol for a person under 21. The charges relate to a 2025 incident in which, according to the investigation, he assaulted a 17-year-old girl at a family home in Massachusetts. Peters denies the charges and claims the contact was consensual.
Circumstances according to police
According to CBS News, a BBC partner in the US, the woman told police that on May 23, 2025, Peters ordered her an Uber to his home in Chatham, where they drank alcohol during a livestream, after which he allegedly raped her. The officer who took the statement noted that, in his opinion, she could not consent due to her age and the degree of intoxication visible in the stream.
Conditions of release
On Thursday, the court released Peters on $10,000 bail, barred him from contacting the accuser or posting about her, and ordered him to surrender his passport. After the hearing, he posted a photo of himself in the black suit and black tie he wore in court, with a dog he had also brought along. The next hearing is scheduled for November 24: the judge will decide whether there is enough evidence for the case to proceed.
Fame and previous incidents
Clavicular has more than a million followers on TikTok and Instagram and has attracted media attention with extreme 'looksmaxxing' methods: he admitted using a hammer on his face and jaw, taking steroids, injections and other drugs for 'bodily perfection', and also gives masculinity advice and stages shocking stunts. Earlier this year in Florida, he was charged after filming himself shooting at an allegedly dead alligator and pleaded no contest to a charge of unlawful shooting in a public place. In March, he was arrested on suspicion of assault after allegedly inciting a fight between two women, but in July authorities said they did not intend to press charges.
