Bayern and Arsenal share the points

In the central match of Matchday 3 of the Champions League league phase, Bayern and Arsenal drew 2:2 at the Allianz Arena. By Matchday 3 the Munich side had collected 4 points, while the Londoners had won both of their opening matches. As early as the 10th minute, Arsenal lost Bukayo Saka to injury — he was replaced by Eberechi Eze. According to post-match reports cited by Kun.uz, Saka may not return to action until December.

Course of the match in Munich

Eze opened the scoring in the 25th minute, finishing a long pass from Martin Ødegaard with a shot past Manuel Neuer into the bottom corner. Ten minutes later, Bayern equalized: Harry Kane played a through ball from midfield, and Alphonso Davies beat David Raya. In the 61st minute, Jurriën Timber handled the ball after a Kane shot, and the English captain converted the penalty — 2:1. However, in the 82nd minute, Declan Rice, after a combination with Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres, leveled the score with a low shot. According to Anadolu, Madueke and Gyökeres were involved in the goal.

Tactical decisions and the outcome

Kun.uz notes that Bayern coach Vincent Kompany unexpectedly chose a cautious style: he left Luis Díaz on the bench and fielded the more defensive Stanišić, abandoning high pressing in favor of counterattacks. In the second half, the Munich side tired, Arsenal took control of the game, and Mikel Arteta's substitutions once again paid off. As a result, Arsenal remained unbeaten with 7 points, while Bayern collected 5 points.

Real thrash Leipzig, Güler in the spotlight

Real Madrid beat RB Leipzig 4:1 at the Santiago Bernabéu and kept a perfect start — 9 points out of 9. Arda Güler scored and was involved in the first goal. In the 44th minute, after a combination involving Güler, Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde, Valverde returned the ball into the box, Güler shot between the legs of goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt, and Bernardo Silva tapped the ball into the net — according to Anadolu, this was his first goal for Real. Two minutes later, Tidiam Gomis, after a pass from Christoph Baumgartner, pulled one back, but in the 87th minute Diomande finished off a delivery from Brahim Díaz and scored against his former team — 4:1.
