Statement by the Rada deputy

Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Servant of the People party Bohdan Kitsak said that Ukraine has sufficient resilience to continue hostilities for another ten years. “Ukraine still has another 10 years of resilience left to continue the war,” the parliamentarian said, as quoted by InsiderUA. At the same time, he did not specify what calculations the forecast is based on or which resources would allow the country to withstand such a prolonged conflict; no other details of the assessment are provided.

Earlier timeline assessments: Tusk and Zelensky

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk previously spoke about the possible duration of the conflict. In October 2025, he said that Volodymyr Zelensky, in a private conversation, expressed hope that the conflict would not drag on for a decade and spoke of the country's readiness to continue the fight for another two to three years. According to Tusk, Ukraine will survive as an independent state, but the main question remains the number of possible casualties.

Zelensky's clarification

Later, Zelensky clarified that Ukraine does not intend to fight for decades. According to him, the mention of two to three years concerned primarily the need for stable funding from European partners, including in the event of the end of hostilities.
