How many children remain in the city

No more than 15 children remain in Alyoshky, Kherson Region, where the dire humanitarian situation persists. Regional children's rights commissioner Irina Kravchenko provided these figures to RIA Novosti, citing the local administration. “According to the data received by my office, children do indeed remain in the city. According to the administration of the Alyoshky municipal district, there are no more than 15 children in the city. This is the information we have as of today,” the ombudswoman said. According to her, information about the children's situation is gathered from several sources, each case is under separate monitoring, and local authorities report on available routes, the security situation and cargo delivery options.

Limited aid deliveries

It is not yet possible to fully provide the city with humanitarian aid. Food and other essential items are being sent to Alyoshky, but the difficult situation severely limits the volume of deliveries. The city is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, opposite Kherson, which is controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Reasons for hampered supplies

Earlier, governor Vladimir Saldo reported that Ukrainian forces remotely mine roads and attack transport with drones, hindering the delivery of food, fuel and medicines. According to him, energy and communications facilities also come under attack. Press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov also spoke about the critical situation in Alyoshky: he assured that Russian forces are taking measures to restore supplies, but, in his words, the Ukrainian side is obstructing the delivery of goods.

Residents' accounts

According to local residents cited by the outlet, food has practically not been delivered to the city since May, and some families have to rely on household supplies. Roads are mined with drones, putting humanitarian aid carriers at risk as well.
