Anastasia Balter, who became famous through her participation in the reality show Dom-2, announced on her Telegram channel that she has submitted documents to participate in the competition for the position of head of the Ufa city administration. According to her, the documents have already been accepted.
The candidate's motivation
Balter explained her initiative by a desire to address the problems of her hometown. In her view, the prosperous picture in central Ufa differs markedly from the situation in the other districts. “Our Ufa has a great many problems that need to be worked on. You look around: everything in the center is beautiful, but as soon as you go beyond the center, you see a completely different, sad picture that urgently needs to be changed,” she said.

The next selection stage is scheduled for October 30: a special commission will decide which of the contenders will continue the fight for the position. The competition itself will take place on November 9. The Ufa city council announced the competition on October 9, and four days later the acceptance of applications from candidates began.
Context: the ex-mayor's criminal case
TV viewers have known Balter since 2020, when she appeared on Dom-2; her participation was remembered for conflicts and fights. The post of mayor of Ufa became vacant after the city council terminated the contract with Ratmir Mavliyev in July, against whom a criminal case is being investigated.
