Domodedovo switches to approval-based operations

Moscow's Domodedovo airport is accepting and dispatching flights in coordination with the relevant authorities. This was reported by the Telegram channel of Rosaviatsiya. The agency explained that the regime is linked to the introduction of temporary restrictions on the use of airspace in the airport's area. It is noted that adjustments to the flight schedule are possible.

Other Moscow airports have also introduced restrictions

On October 21, Sheremetyevo airport began coordinating the arrival and departure of aircraft with the relevant authorities. Shortly before that, a similar procedure came into effect at Vnukovo airport.

Context

When restrictions are imposed on airport operations, flights are often delayed or cancelled. In case of a departure delay, passengers are advised to check the reasons and the estimated departure time at the check-in counter or at the airport information service. Earlier, amid a drone attack in Moscow, hundreds of flights were delayed or cancelled.
