Course of the match in Naples
Napoli beat Norwegian Bodø/Glimt 4:3 at their Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the third matchday of the Champions League league phase. The hosts opened the scoring in the first minute — Matteo Politano scored. In the 27th minute Jens Petter Hauge equalized, but in the 41st minute Scott McTominay put the Italians back in front.
Second half and decisive goals
After the break, Andreas Helmersen equalized again in the 62nd minute, but in the 75th McTominay completed his brace. In the 88th minute Bodø/Glimt defender Odin Bjortuft sent the ball into his own net. In stoppage time Sondre Fet reduced the deficit, setting the final score — 4:3.
Nikita Haikin in the Norwegians' goal
Throughout the match, the Bodø/Glimt goal was guarded by 31-year-old Russian Nikita Haikin. In the second matchday he helped the team beat Borussia Dortmund (1:0), while in the opening match against Bayern he suffered an injury and left the pitch at halftime — after his substitution the Norwegians conceded five goals and lost 0:5. Haikin has played for Bodø/Glimt since 2019 and won the Norwegian championship four times. In April 2026 he received Norwegian citizenship. Earlier, the goalkeeper played for Israeli Bnei Yehuda and Hapoel from Kfar Saba, and in 2023 moved to English Bristol City, where he did not play a single match and returned to Norway.
Tournament situation and other matches
The win was Napoli's first in the current Champions League campaign: previously the team lost to Villarreal (1:3) and Arsenal (0:1). On November 4 Napoli will play Porto, while Bodø/Glimt will face Lille a day earlier. In other matches of the matchday, Liverpool beat Villarreal (4:3), Manchester City thrashed Greek AEK (5:1), Roma defeated Slovan Bratislava (4:0), PSV proved stronger than Porto (1:0), while Fenerbahçe and Slavia (2:2), as well as Stuttgart and Atlético (1:1), drew.
