About his son's languages
Andrei Makarevich, frontman of Mashina Vremeni (designated a foreign agent in Russia), told Alexei Venediktov (designated a foreign agent in Russia) in an interview published on YouTube that his four-year-old son Eitan speaks Russian well, despite having been born into a different culture. “He speaks Russian amazingly and virtuoso-like. He says: ‘Could you please help me?’ When a four-year-old says a phrase like that in Russian to a stranger... It's shocking,” the artist shared. According to him, the child speaks Hebrew at home and in kindergarten, while also learning English. Asked whether his son is learning too many languages, Makarevich replied: “As one wise Jew used to say: it won't hurt.”
Why so many languages
The musician explained this approach by saying that he does not presume to predict what life will be like and which language might be needed. “Can you, for example, imagine what kind of life we will all be living in about five years? I can't. I don't know where everything happening today will lead,” he said.
A daughter is on the way
In the same interview, Makarevich revealed that he will soon have a daughter. For him and his wife Einat Klein, this will be their second child together. In total, the musician has three adult children from previous relationships — daughters Dana and Anna and son Ivan. Klein is the artist's fourth wife: the couple married in 2019 and currently live in Israel.
Context
Earlier, model Anastasia Reshetova also spoke about family matters: according to her, it is “easier to answer once” about her relationship with Timati's mother. Gazeta.Ru's piece mentions this as a recent publication on the same topic. Note that the information about the son's languages and the future daughter comes only from Makarevich himself in a single interview; the cited publications contain no independent confirmation.
