First evacuation of a wounded soldier using a drone
The Armed Forces of Ukraine published a video which, they claim, shows the first evacuation of a wounded soldier from the front line using an aerial drone. The information comes from the Ukrainian army itself; no independent confirmation is provided in the publications.
Reasons conventional evacuation was impossible
According to the drone unit of the 92nd Assault Brigade, the serviceman was wounded at a position from which evacuation by conventional means was impossible due to minefields and the activity of Russian drones.
Course of the operation
The video shows military personnel in a control room monitoring the operation: the wounded man is attached to a drone, which lifts him and carries him out of the danger zone. The aircraft then delivers the soldier to a landing site, where he is safely lowered to the ground. After the operation is completed, the military personnel in the control room applaud.
Unknown details
The brigade did not specify when and where the evacuation was carried out.
