Vance expects Trump's support without direct arrangements

US Vice President JD Vance said on Monday that, in his view, President Donald Trump would support him if he decides to run for president. At the same time, he emphasized that he has not discussed this question with Trump himself. 'Look, I think if I run, the president would support me,' Vance said in an interview with Mark Halperin on the 2WAY Tonight program.

'I haven't talked to him about it'

Asked whether Trump would support him immediately after an announcement of his candidacy, Vance replied that he considers it likely, but admitted he has no direct confirmation. 'I would think so, but I don't know, man. I haven't talked to him about it,' he said. Vance characterized the president's support as 'so dispositive' and added: 'Since I've never talked to the president about it, I can't judge his psychology. But my attitude is: if I run, I think the president would support me. But I also haven't talked to him about it.'
