One Pilot, Two Aircraft: F-22 in the Air Controlled the YFQ-44A Fury Combat Drone
The US Air Force and Anduril reported a demonstration of in-flight tactical control: an F-22 pilot transmitted an updated mission plan and maneuver commands to the YFQ-44A Fury combat drone. The test took place under the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program from Edwards Air Force Base in California. The pilot acted as an airborne commander without manually controlling the drone — onboard software independently interpreted general tactical directives.
