The Wagner Brothers Part Ways: Moritz Moves to Brooklyn, Franz Stays as Orlando's Leader
For the first time since 2021, brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner will play in the NBA for different clubs: Moritz, after his contract with Orlando expired, signed with the Brooklyn Nets, while Franz stayed with the Magic on a $224 million contract through 2030. In the 2026/27 season, eight Germans will play in the NBA, and the Charlotte Hornets with Dennis Schröder and two rookies could become the league's new 'German' team.
