WHO: Nearly 1 billion children worldwide face violence annually; Pakistan launches national strategy for 2026–2031
The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean reported that nearly 1 billion children worldwide face physical, sexual or psychological violence every year, and one child dies from violence every five minutes. On October 14, WHO and Pakistan's Ministry of Human Rights launched a national strategy to eliminate violence against children for 2026–2031, covering 120 million children.
