2026 Women's World Hockey Championship: new format, Russia's absence, and the favorites' disputed uniforms
The 2026 Women's World Hockey Championship in Denmark is being held in a new format and, for the first time in history, in November, to ensure the participation of top players from the PWHL league. The Russian national team is not taking part in the tournament, despite a recent CAS ruling that will only come into force for the next season. The favorites remain the United States and Canada, who, due to a commercial dispute, are playing in uniforms without national emblems.
