US merchandise trade deficit rose to $134.9 billion in September — highest since March 2025
The US Department of Commerce reported that the merchandise trade balance deficit in September increased by 2.1% to $134.9 billion, exceeding market expectations. Exports rose to $209.2 billion, imports to $344.1 billion; data on wholesale and retail inventories was also published.
