Steve McQueen combines the voices of Nina Simone and David Bowie in a sound installation in Bilbao
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao has opened Steve McQueen's '66–76–26' — a sound installation in which versions of the song Wild is the Wind performed by Nina Simone (1966) and David Bowie (1976) sound toward each other in darkness. The exhibition opened on 9 October 2026, on the artist's 57th birthday, and will run until 13 February 2027.
