Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake Recorded Near the Kuril Islands
On the morning of October 21, a magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the Kuril Islands. The epicenter was located 76 km southeast of the uninhabited island of Simushir at a depth of 76 km beneath the seabed. The tremors were not felt in populated areas, and no tsunami threat was declared.
