Scientists link the WLS protein to accelerated aging of cells in the male gonads
Researchers from China found elevated production of the WLS protein in Sertoli cells of older donors and showed in the laboratory that boosting it accelerates signs of cellular aging. The work was published in the Journal of Molecular Cell Biology, but the sample was small and the experiments were conducted only in cell cultures.
