Algeria begins second phase of cleanup at former French nuclear test site
Algeria has launched a second operation to remove radioactive waste at the site of French nuclear tests in the Sahara — in the 'Beryl E2' tunnel in the In Ekker area of Tamanrasset province. Algeria's Ministry of Defense accused France of refusing to provide maps and documents on waste burial sites.
