RTU MIREA lecturer Alexander Sysuev told Gazeta.Ru that solanine is concentrated in the peel, sprouts and eyes and can spread deeper into the tuber, so cutting out the green area does not guarantee removal of the toxin. Heat treatment does not eliminate it either.
