Three-year-old boy from Belgorod died after treatment for rotavirus in Abkhazia
The child contracted a rotavirus infection while on vacation with his parents in Abkhazia. After an IV drip at a hospital in Sukhumi, his condition deteriorated sharply and brain swelling developed. The family was sent to Russia, where the boy spent 13 days on a ventilator and died. A criminal case has been opened for causing death by negligence.
