France estimates damage from weekend riots at tens or hundreds of millions of euros
French Economy Minister Roland Lescour estimated the damage from violence during last weekend's protests at 'tens or possibly hundreds of millions' of euros. He called what happened 'extremely serious' and said the country was attacked 'from within' by anarchists and hooligans. The government is working with insurers to support affected merchants. For next Saturday, the 'yellow vests' and unions have announced new demonstrations in Paris.
