Paris woke amid destruction after riots during protests against rising prices
After Saturday's nationwide demonstrations against the rising cost of living, Paris woke on Sunday morning to widespread damage: burned bicycles, smashed shop windows and traces of looting. Nike, Sephora, Burger King and the ticket offices of the Paris Opera were affected. Clean-up and repairs began early in the morning.
