Central Bank of Uzbekistan updates the rules of the 'regulatory sandbox' for financial services: three tracks and a mandatory notice in advertising
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan approved a new version of the regulation on the special legal regime (the 'regulatory sandbox') in the field of financial services. The document was registered by the Ministry of Justice on October 19, 2026 and replaces the regulation from October 2022. Participants will be divided into three tracks — innovation, acceleration and technological partnership; for acceleration, testing is limited to 12 months with an extension of up to 6 months, while the 3-year term remains for the others. Advertising of services from the 'sandbox' must indicate that the service is provided in test mode; non-residents will also be able to participate.
