Chelsea captain Reece James has undergone successful knee surgery, the London club announced. The 26-year-old Englishman missed the club's last two Premier League matches — a 0:3 defeat to Brentford and a 5:1 win over Bournemouth. He sustained the injury in training, and medical examinations showed surgery was necessary. James's recovery will take place under the supervision of the club's medical staff in Cobham.
