Turkey's Parliament Ratifies the Mecca Defense Pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan
Turkey's parliament approved the ratification of the Mecca agreement on joint defense between Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia: 279 votes in favor, 119 against. The agreement, signed on August 7 in Mecca, provides for the collective defense of the three countries but will enter into force only after being signed by the President of Turkey.
