Raye wins the 2026 Mercury Prize for the album This Music May Contain Hope

British singer Raye (Rachel Keen) has won the 2026 Mercury Prize with her second album This Music May Contain Hope, beating favourite Olivia Dean, Paul McCartney and ten other nominees. It is the first pop album win at the awards since 1994. The ceremony was held in Newcastle; the prize is £25,000.

McCartney and Starr back new Beatles attraction in Liverpool

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have approved Apple Corps' plans to move The Beatles Story museum from the Albert Dock to the former St Johns market site and create a Yellow Submarine experience at St Johns Beacon. Opening is scheduled for 2028, and the venue will be more than four times larger than the current one.
