US court refuses to dismiss case against Lockerbie bombing suspect
US District Court judge in Washington, Dabney Friedrich, denied the defense motion to dismiss the case against Abu Agila Mohammad Mas'ud Kheir al-Marimi. The defense argued he was unlawfully taken from Libya in 2022 and his constitutional rights were violated. The judge cited the doctrine allowing trial of a person captured by force and also denied the motion to suppress the 2012 confession. Trial is set for January 19.
