Kyoto scientists find a link between cats' oxytocin and their owners' stress levels
A study by Kyoto University showed: the higher a cat's oxytocin, the lower the owner's cortisol (the stress hormone). The study involved 19 owners and 29 cats; closeness was assessed using Bluetooth tags. The authors note the small sample size and the inability to establish a causal relationship.
