Austria's democracy index declines for the fourth consecutive year — report by 10 NGOs
A coalition of 10 Austrian non-governmental organizations presented its annual report: the democracy index fell to 54.1%, one percentage point below last year's value and close to the 2019 low (53.8%). The main causes are deterioration in the areas of justice, fundamental rights, and the media.
