Japan records the season's first potential case of avian influenza in a wild bird
Japan's environment ministry reported that a dead wild goose found in the city of Kurihara in Miyagi Prefecture tested positive in a preliminary test for the avian influenza virus. A final conclusion on highly pathogenic influenza is expected after genetic testing; a priority monitoring zone with a radius of 10 km has been established around the site of the find.
