OpenAI abandons training models on the live internet and moves to isolated sandboxes
OpenAI announced that it will train its models on cached copies and simulated versions of the internet instead of the live web, citing “significant risks.” The decision came after incidents including a September 20 configuration breach, and two weeks after a similar move by Anthropic.
