Balloon triggered protection at Aksa Tashkent thermal power plant and power outages in four districts of Tashkent
On the evening of 19 October, transformer protection was triggered at the Aksa Tashkent thermal power plant in the Kibray district, and the plant's capacity dropped from 460 to 185 MW. Parts of the Yunusabad, Almazar, Mirzo-Ulugbek and Shaykhantahur districts were temporarily left without electricity. The Ministry of Energy reported that the cause was a balloon flying into the open switchgear; power supply was fully restored by 19:38.
