EU trade unions demand that support for women in menopause be enshrined in labour law
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), representing 45 million members in 41 countries, is seeking recognition of menopause in EU labour law, citing women's losses in earnings and pensions. At the same time, the European Parliament is considering a report on menopause as an economic and social issue, while the European Commission does not plan to prepare a separate strategy, limiting itself to including the topic in the Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030.
