Hotel evacuated in Londonderry over viable explosive device found in a parcel
A suspicious parcel delivered to The Ebrington hotel on Ebrington Square in Londonderry contained a viable explosive device. Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion, and the hotel and neighbouring premises were evacuated. Politicians link the incident to a careers fair involving the Ministry of Defence and stress that it took place at the height of Halloween celebrations.
