In China, a kindergarten owner was sentenced to life imprisonment for poisoning 233 children with lead
A court in China has delivered a verdict in the case of the poisoning of children at a private kindergarten in the city of Tianshui, Gansu province, where 233 children were found to have lead poisoning in July 2025. The owner, Li Huifang, who ordered toxic industrial paint to be added to food to improve the appearance of dishes, received a life sentence. The director was sentenced to 15 years, the cooks to 6–8 years, and another 27 officials and medics found themselves in the dock for falsifying test results.
