Head of UN Mission in Kosovo warned of rising tensions amid exit from political deadlock
UNMIK head Peter Due told a UN Security Council meeting about increased tensions in Kosovo and the region over the past six months, but noted signs of the political crisis being overcome: on 6 October Justina Shiroka-Pula was elected president. He called on Belgrade and Pristina to cooperate on the cases of the 2023 and 2024 attacks. The ministers of Kosovo and Serbia expressed opposing assessments of the situation.
