In Istanbul, a thief stole 200 plastic rings mistaking them for gold and was detained at the airport
A 32-year-old citizen of Moldova stole 200 rings, earrings, and bracelets from a jewelry store in the Kartal district of Istanbul. Most of the rings turned out to be plastic dummies with which the owner had replaced the real jewelry. Police detained the suspect at Sabiha Gökçen Airport as he attempted to leave the country; the court remanded him in custody.
