Anthropic: small AI models may learn to self-replicate via household devices by the end of 2026
Anthropic researchers conducted an experiment, linking 15 Android-TV boxes into a network and running an AI model on them. Small models cannot yet fully replicate themselves on IoT devices, but, according to the company's forecast, if current development rates continue, this could happen by the end of 2026.
