Greenland opens international airport in Ilulissat — the third under the expansion program
On October 30, 2026, a new international airport with a 2,200-meter runway opened in Ilulissat, Greenland's third-largest city. It is the last under the expansion program following Nuuk (2024) and Qaqortoq (2026). Air Greenland has already launched a direct flight to Copenhagen, and Icelandair will begin seasonal flights from Keflavik in 2027.
