Houston mayor limits city police cooperation with immigration agency ICE
Houston Mayor John Whitmire signed an order under which police may contact ICE only if a person is already being transported to jail on new charges or warrants and has a positive match with an ICE administrative warrant in the NCIC database. The decision followed the Democrats' victory in the midterm elections.
