Airbnb bans hosts from requiring guests to clean up at checkout
Airbnb has updated its rules: for bookings from November 20, 2026, hosts will no longer be able to require guests to strip bedding, wash dishes or take out the trash. Only 'reasonable' requests are allowed, fines are banned, and disputes over damage compensation are handled through Airbnb's insurance. Some hosts have already expressed dissatisfaction with the change.
