Armenian court extends detention of opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan by three months
A court in Armenia has extended by three months the detention of Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia party. The politician's defense plans to appeal the ruling, which was issued amid fraud and money laundering charges. Earlier, a criminal case for tax evasion was opened against Tsarukyan, and he himself filed a lawsuit against the country's prime minister.
