Pompeii restores the House of Marcus Fabius Rufus: €1.46 million to be spent on frescoes
A €1.46 million restoration has begun in Pompeii of one of the most luxurious houses of the ancient Roman city — the House of Marcus Fabius Rufus. The work aims to preserve the frescoes and decorative interiors of the four-storey residence, believed to have belonged to a wealthy Roman magistrate. The restoration was preceded by structural stabilization and excavations completed in 2021–2023.
