Central Bank: currency supply in Uzbekistan is growing faster than demand, the gap has narrowed to $6.6 billion
In January–September 2026, demand for foreign currency on Uzbekistan's domestic market grew by 17.9% to $50.4 billion, while supply, excluding Central Bank operations, rose by 25.3% to $43.8 billion. The negative gap narrowed from $7.79 billion a year earlier to $6.6 billion. The main sources of supply are export revenue and currency sales by the population.
