Finnish court sentences Russian captain of Fitburg to 3.5 years in prison for damaging underwater cables
The Helsinki District Court found captain Andrei Maksimenko of the cargo ship Fitburg and the boatswain — a citizen of Azerbaijan — guilty of 'aggravated property damage' for dragging an anchor along the seabed of the Gulf of Finland. They were also ordered to jointly pay about €1.9 million in compensation.
