Expert explains why Euro-3 gasoline is dangerous to health
Associate Professor of Perm Polytech Sergey Pestrikov told Gazeta.Ru that K3 (Euro-3) ecological class gasoline contains up to 150 mg/kg of sulfur versus 10 mg/kg for K5. Sulfur combustion products pollute the air and irritate the airways, especially in people with asthma. Sulfur also reduces the efficiency of the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, increasing emissions and fuel consumption.
