15 media organizations urge European Commission to ensure journalists' access to documents amid ombudsman's Gaza inquiry
A group of 15 media organizations sent an open letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen demanding better access for journalists to public documents. The trigger was an inquiry by European Ombudsman Teresa Anjinho into the Commission's refusal to disclose 17 documents on EU-funded projects in the Gaza Strip. The Commission must respond to the appeal by 4 November.
