Dominican Republic reinforces border with Haiti amid security crisis
President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader ordered the deployment of two additional battalions, heavy equipment and artillery to the southern section of the border with Haiti. Prior to this, about 11,000 troops were already stationed on the border. Abinader also reported contacts with El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele and said the authorities were monitoring the kidnapping of four Salvadoran military technicians in Haiti.
